Alice Ju was born in Taipei, Taiwan and has been drawing since an early age.She graduated from Chinese Culture University in Taiwan and came to the U.S. to study Food and Nutrition for two years and received a master degree from Mississippi University for Women. She learned drawing and oil painting from renowned artists in Taiwan and the U.S. She also learned oil painting and portrait painting with Mirta Richards and Lio Cheng in ABC Adult School. Through these experiences, she acquired multiple art techniques that make her paintings more skillful.
As an assistant animator of an animation company in Taiwan, she was taught to observe subjects from different angles and to focus on the nuances of gestures. This strict training contributed to her attention to detail for all her art subjects.
Alice dedicated a great deal of time painting after her two daughters grew up. The great passion and exquisite sense of art can be seen in her paintings. Portrait painting is her favorite art genre. She loves to paint portraits because she can carefully capture their expressions and transmits their life to the canvas vibrantly. She will continue to pursue her goal of painting.
Alice started to join the art organizations in 2008. She enjoyed learning the painting techniques the artists taught and the experiences they shared. Her paintings have won many awards including the first place, second place, third place and Honorable Mention at Lakewood Artist Guild Art Shows, Honorable Mention at Art Colony of La Mirada November Art Festival, Tile Zone Award and Honorable Mention at Cypress Art League Fall Art Show.
