I call this painting, "The Photograph". People have told me this is one of my most moving works. At first the viewer sees the woman's face, then the arms lead you down to the child, whose arms lead you to the photograph. This is an important aspect of art where the artist guides the eye of the viewer, throughout the whole painting before leading you to the main object. The continuity of the colors from the background flowers, into the dress and the girl, also will make the trip smoother, and without any disturbing "road blocks" in the way.
I had some extra blue paint on my pallet.  It was a self portrait to begin with -- mostly around the eyes, but after awhile I just kind of went with the free and easy mode.
Called "The Reflections of Spring", I'd like to say that this place exists, but it is from my imagination.  I just love playing around with these colors.
Now this painting actually comes from a scene I have been to.  The water was moving so fast and I was hoping I could emphasize that in the painting. What do you think?
